A great story has visual clues. I'm the geriatricstarlet and I dug up this arcane device with my red-handled shovel. Ah, I have been told this is the world's first solar fan! Used in the early Indus Valley civilization at Mohenjo Daro. This was an Indian city with a Dravidian name, Kukkutama, which means City of the Cockerel. The people engaged in sacred cock-fighting. Sacred? Interesting! The earliest fans were used to blow-dry the feathers on a rooster, so the birds would look hefty for their fights. Later these people became quite advanced in their textile methods. The fan's breeze was then used to dry the hand-stamped block print designs on cotton fabric.
